Architecture – Old world

I adore the historic buildings that make up a good portion of the city of Paris. With my husband being from Paris, France we often go back to visit family and one of my favourite things is to drive around capturing the old-world architecture and the street. I marvel at the details in these buildings, wondering about the historical figures who had also frequented these places. I think about what the people from long ago were enduring, what their struggles were as they passed these very buildings. To me, the history apparent in many areas of Paris penetrates my every thought as I pass by or enter these grand buildings. I love and appreciate how so much of its history has been preserved. With my ex-husband’s family also having been from Paris, I’ve been frequently going since the early 1980s and every time I return, I feel like I am home.
